A glimpse at the many sand dunes on St. George Island State Park. They probably should have called it sand dune island. These babies are amazing!!
St. George Island is 9 miles of undeveloped beaches and dunes, surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico and Apalachicola Bay. This is the perfect setting for St. George Island Park. St. George occupies 1962 acres at the end of a long, narrow barrier island, and is a combination of sandy coves, salt marshes, shady pines, and oak forests. The park supports an abundance of marine and bird life.
