Description
Florida is know for it's abundance of wildlife. Everywhere you go along the gulf coast you are bound to come across the beautiful nature of pelicans. This particular one has a red head and red on it's beak. I believe it is brown pelican, but I like calling it red head!
he Brown Pelican is a comically elegant bird with an oversized bill, sinuous neck, and big, dark body. Squadrons glide above the surf along southern and western coasts, rising and falling in a graceful echo of the waves. They feed by plunge-diving from high up, using the force of impact to stun small fish before scooping them up. They are fairly common todayan excellent example of a species recovery from pesticide pollution that once placed them at the brink of extinction.

Debra, Fantastic capture of this brown Pelican with outstanding details in the feathers and the colors in his head. Love how you can see the various layers of his tail feathers in this photo and the piling that he is sittting on is perfectly clear as you can see every color and crack in it. Fantastic background sky with a remarkable clarity in this photo. Great photo, fav, voted, google and tweet promoted for CFC 3 link promo thread
