This magnificent bird was just chilling in the tree at the campground on St. George Island. He was not alone on the opposite side of the road he had buddies. They were just hanging around, enjoying life.
St. George Island is 9 miles of undeveloped beaches and dunes, surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico and Apalachicola Bay. This is the perfect setting for St. George Island Park. St. George occupies 1962 acres at the end of a long, narrow barrier island, and is a combination of sandy coves, salt marshes, shady pines, and oak forests. The park supports an abundance of marine and bird life.
