Description
One thing that I loved about being on St. George Island was the abundance of wildlife. I had waited all spring to see a cardinal and on this trip they were everywhere. I caught this one while taking a walk.
St. George Island is 9 miles of undeveloped beaches and dunes, surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico and Apalachicola Bay. This is the perfect setting for St. George Island Park. St. George occupies 1962 acres at the end of a long, narrow barrier island, and is a combination of sandy coves, salt marshes, shady pines, and oak forests. The park supports an abundance of marine and bird life.

Debra, Fantastic capture of this wonderful looking cardinal. Remarkable close up showing off the great colors and details of this great looking bird. I really like how you have done such an amazing job with this photo that you can see the various layers of feathers on the Cardinal. Also like the idea of blurring to concentrate fully on the Cardinal and the stump of wood he is standing on. Excellent photo, fav, voted, google and tweet promoted for CFC 3 link promo thread

Lovely! I'm sitting on the porch watching a pair of cardinals as I type this...you've captured this one nicely!
